You found me! My name is Coprinus (kuh-prih-nus), named after the coolest family of mushrooms to exist. Seriously, look up their self-digestion thing. its awesome. I'm an 18 year old trans woman in canada. I'm an enjoyer of many games, movies, books, and video essays like Jacob Geller's stuff. Hoping to make some shrines to my absolute fav shit in the future and finally putting the ramblings I give to myself about media onto somewhere real. Over the last year or two I've been trying to distance myself from a mode of pure consumption in order to create something that I'd like. I've bounced around between paper on pencil, pixel art, sfm, and bleached on patchwork. The scope of my art might limit how good I can be at each one, but I like being multi-faceted, it gives me options.
However, i don't have many options for places to put my art out there. The current state of social media is so homogenized and focused on feeding into a system that's built to pull at addictive tendancies. Whatever is posted on twitter, tumblr, deviant art, or any other site is so fleating. I've wanted more and better ways to express myself and eventually I came across Hypnospace Outlaw. I always liked the early web look that i just barely missed out on and have always wanted a taste of it. From Hypnospace I slowly found the culture of web revival and archival projects of geocities. Code has always scared me, but so many people used to know it inside and out from such a young age. So hear I go trying to make something that rocks as much as all the little sites and 2000's nostalgia-bait posts I love looking at.
As stated before I have no idea what I'm doing. this site will probs look messy for a long time as I slowly find the words to google every issue I have. I hope you enjoy the inner machinations of my mind slowly being seaped into these pages. E-mail me if you care to do so for any reason at borntofrolic@gmail.com and have a good day
